In 2004 I bought my Arab mix gelding Lopa. His first saddle soon became too narrow for him, because he built up muscles very fast. Therefore a new saddle was needed urgently. I borrowed a plastic saddle from a friend, who fitted quite well, but was a bit skew on my horse’s back. But it should even be an interim solution, which finally lasted almost 1 ¾ years. In the meantime I tested some saddles – all didn’t fit!! I ordered a saddle maker to come and help me, but without success.
At this time I already heard of the Barefoot saddles and made some research.
After the latest saddle fitting I finally had enough. I bought the London saddle, with mixed feelings, not knowing whether it could fulfil my expectations.
After saddling and riding in it first, I was totally surprised. My horse went totally relaxed, not at all clammy as usual and accepted for a few time the bit without grumbling.
All this was hardly possible before!
I first thought, that he might have had a good time today, but he stayed satisfied the next rides too. I more and more got the impression that work pleases him.
Yesterday even my riding instructor, who was very sceptical first, congratulated me for the decision to buy the saddle for Lopa.
I can stay for hours in the Barefoot without pain – the saddle is so comfortable.
I really recommend the saddle, I am very satisfied and most important: Lopa too!
