How to find the right length:
The buckles should always lay one hand above the horse's elbow. Since the girth size is always measured from one buckle to the other, just place the measuring-tape about one hand above the elbow, run it snug under the belly to the same spot on the other side of the horse. The d-ring should be right in the middle of the horse's chest when the girth is tightened.

Girth System english
The Barefoot girth system has two components. The top side is elastic and equipped with 4 stainless steel roller buckles. The lower part consists of a thick and soft padding surrounded by leather. The padding is able to adapt and therefore nestles softly to the horse´s belly without following the movement of the saddle and the elastic component. Any kind of skin irritation and bruising in the girth area are avoided. This system combines greatest safety during girthing with the utmost comfort for the horse. The d-ring can be flapped down when not needed.
